Turned part made of special material titanium, high-strength

Turned parts are metal or plastic components that are manufactured by turning raw material. This process is usually carried out on CNC lathes, which offer high precision and repeatability. The raw materials can consist of various materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, brass or plastics.

Turned parts are generally available in various shapes and sizes and can be used for a wide range of applications. These can range from the smallest parts used in the watchmaking or electronics industries to larger parts required in the automotive or aerospace industries.

Some examples of applications for turned parts:

  • Electronics industry: Small parts such as connectors, contacts, pins and screws are often manufactured from turned parts in the electronics industry.
  • Automotive industry: Components such as camshafts, piston pins and axle housings are often made from turned parts.
  • Medical equipment industry: Instruments such as surgical instruments, valves and pumps are often made from turned parts.
  • Aviation industry: Turned parts are used in the aviation industry for the production of components such as aircraft engines, wheels and brakes.

The production of turned parts requires specialized CNC lathes that are able to precisely process the raw material and shape it into the desired form. The process begins with the selection of the raw material, which is cut into a suitable size and shape.

The raw material is then clamped in the CNC lathe and turned while the cutting tools cut the shape of the part. During the machining process, the workpiece is regularly measured and checked to ensure that it meets the required dimensions and tolerances.

Once the machining process is complete, the finished turned part is removed from the machine and checked for quality. If required, further steps such as polishing, coating or assembly can be carried out.
